Americans were attacked by japan during Pearl Harbor; however, they did not feel any cause for taking revenge. In the government propaganda, there was a great deal of stress in the war against Germany which was placed on the National Socialist regime rather than the Germans. The U.S had many trained soldiers that fought in World War 2 in the military bases that were in the war. Major bases were located on the west coast. The U.S was able to make around 500 camps because there were many prisoners, 425,000 to be exact. The U.S was extremely unsuccessful during Pearl Harbor; however, by 1942, around 5 million people were able to be able to take part in the air-raid defense. When the U.S fought in World War 2, there were 3 countries that went against the U.S including Germany, Japan and Italy. The United States was determined to have maintained formal neutrality as they supplied Britain, China as well as the Soviet Union. The U.S was trying to help British by giving aid such as providing military equipment. President Roosevelt took U.S naval units to the war against German Submarine even though Germany and U.S already had peace among each other.
